… she saw what looked like little balls of light floating about the bedroom  …..  balls of light seen in bedrooms are yet another common feature in Pennine cases. Many of the witnesses I have interviewed who have had strange experiences have seen them, usually when they are younger.

Alan Godfrey, a police officer from Todmorden … had such a bedroom visit from a floating ball of white light. Jenny, a woman who experienced both apparitions and alien contacts at Walsden, between Todmorden and Littlebrough, saw tennis-ball-sized lights floating around her bedroom as a youngster. And Mike Sacks from Bacup, a witness to several close encounters in the Rossendale valley, reported 'green opal' like lights in his room when he was twelve.

In June 1982 Mrs Noreen described another incident: ‘I saw on the wall of my bedroom a brilliant white oval.  Through the oval – faded at first – came the face of my eldest son who had died.  He was smiling with such love and happiness.  It was marvellous’.  …. She has also felt ‘electric’ tingling sensations in her leg and noted static interference on the TV set..
