A description of the experience

Clomipramine [separate entry] is also called Anafranil  and as figures are kept separately by name on ehealthme theses are included here.  It was developed in the 1960s by the Swiss drug manufacturer Geigy (now known as Novartis) and has been in clinical use worldwide ever since.  It is a blocker of the serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine transporters.  It is an agonist of many seretonin receptors as well as two dopamine receptors; it is an antihistamine and has anticholinergic properties.  And it is an  alpha1-adrenergic and alpha2-adrenergic receptor antagonist.
