My sister Irma went to spend several days in the country, with one of our friends, while I remained with my parents. It was the first time I had been separated from my twin sister; and as her absence was very painful to me, I decided to go and see what she was doing.
It was 11 o'clock at night and I was in bed. Soon I saw myself in the room that she was sharing with our friend, and I perceived my sister, lying in her bed, a book in her hand, reading by the rays of a lamp with a green shade. She felt my presence, lifted her eyes and saw me standing near the stove. When I saw that she was looking at me, I tried to hide behind the stove, for fear she might be frightened by the apparition, not being sure that she would recognise me.
The following day I wrote her the details I have just given and received a letter telling me that she had seen me the day before, at 11 o'clock at night, near the stove.
My sister and I have repeated this experiment several times, but it does not always succeed.
