In his autobiography and in the interview already referred to, Ossowicki talks about his ability to see auras:
I used to see it when I was still a student at the Technological Institute and at the time I could not understand it, I even thought that it must be defective vision. I consulted a number of ophthalmologists in Moscow. One of the very well-known doctors, Professor Gilius, claimed that I suffer from colour-blindness.
I even started treatment. I was scared, but I felt that they were all wrong and stopped the treatment. Quite accidentally I noticed that when I see the white aura emanating from someone, this person dies on the same day, the next day at the latest; I verified it frequently with the same result [Ossowiecki, 1933, p. 65].
