Immediately after complete-separation from the physical body, centre yourself by firmly declaring "Clarity now!" or "Awareness now!" When you are fully aware within your non-physical body, clearly declare, "Now I experience my higher self!"-your soul or spiritual essence.
Make this request a focused demand for immediate action. Be prepared to be propelled inward or upward at tremendous speed. The sensation is one of extreme inner motion, like being drawn into a powerful vacuum. Layers of light and colour will flash by your awareness as you move deeper and deeper within the universe that is your self. Some people report the sensation of shooting into space or a void. The key is to let go of all preconceptions and completely surrender to the inner motion. Be aware that this rapid motion can be startling and powerful. Trust yourself, for this perceived motion is intense.
After several moments, the motion will cease. Your limitations and fears will melt away as you experience your true essence existing within an incredible dimension of pure light and knowledge far beyond all concepts of form. This experience can be viewed as the expansion or extension of your awareness from the relatively dense astral body to the higher frequency existence of pure consciousness or soul.
This is a life-changing spiritual adventure that must be experienced to be understood. For many, this is the primary purpose and goal of their out-of-body training and practice.

For about two months I did the techniques as I went to sleep. First I noticed that my dreams started to make sense, and then one night I was awakened by a weird buzzing sound and I realized that I could not move.
I stayed calm - and immediately began to think about my higher self and the idea of floating up. I felt myself slowly move up.
It was all very peaceful for a moment; then I thought about my higher self and all hell broke loose. Suddenly I was sucked upward at an incredible speed and I moved through a blur of colours and stars. I felt like I was stretched across the universe. When the motion finally stopped, I was in a vast pool of pure energy, love, consciousness. I can't begin to describe it, because it was everything and nothing at the same time. It was far beyond words, but it felt like my home.
It is, without comparison, the most profound experience of my life.
