Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

There are examples of observations obrained from heart elsewhere in this section, but I thought it might also be interesting to describe one experience I had myself.  Many of the experiences I had were at night in a sort of waking dream, when the very low oxygen resulted in me waking, but left me half awake and half asleep, but the example I will give is of a very profound vision I had whilst awake.  It may have been an out of  body experience.

A description of the experience

I was lying in a recliner chair in the garden, legs outstretched, very relaxed, but desperately tired from the illness.  The sky was blue above and clear, nothing to see except blue and it was warm with a slight gentle breeze.  There were no sounds except the occasional bird and the leaves in the trees.  The sun was warm on my face and I was at peace, despite the breathlessness and exhaustion.  Since death no longer worries me, I was thinking this might be a nice way to die, just to fall asleep there in that chair, to go through the door in the sky.

I was just staring at the sky and my glasses were off, so all I was seeing was blue, when pink ethereal clouds started to cross my vision.  The moment I started to concentrate on them and wonder about them they were gone, but the more I relaxed and let it happen, the more gentle waves of pink mist there were, then green mist and white mist until I think my eyes closed because all I could see was the same blue sky but a green landscape and from the sky a chariot came with four white horses and a driver who looked like the archetypal Indian god – quite beautiful – or handsome if you prefer.  He had long hair tied in a sort of bun and floating multicoloured robes and he simply beckoned me to enter the chariot.  I say chariot but it had no wheels being more like a sledge.

And off we flew in the most gorgeous flight you could imagine.  First over the same deep brilliant green fields passing over almost cartoon like miniature houses and miniature people.  It reminded me of the sort of illustrations you see in children’s books – Noddy in Toytown – but the differences were there too.  Then we came down to a field of gold, full of jewelled stones all glinting in the sun, the field was not quite square with no obvious borders; it merged into the landscape beyond which was gently undulating.  The ground was glittering and sparkling in a glorious way.  He let me walk on the field – there was no sensation, it was simply a feeling of floating over a gold sea, then he helped me back in the chariot and off we went again.

Next it was up higher in a circular motion, gently climbing but in long swoops round and round as a hawk might do or a hang glider.  I had the odd sensation of both being in the chariot enjoying the ride and watching myself in it as though I was several places at once.  Eventually we came to a cloud layer which consisted of a small number of white fluffy clouds with views over the landscape below and we got out and he led me over the clouds, we sort of cloud hopped together, jumping over the white masses, it was glorious and fun.

I had no sensation of a body, nor did I appear to have a body and whether this could be classified as an out of body experience I have no idea as it appeared to me very real, a sort of waking dream, but quite engrossing I was really living the experience.

Most of my visions seem to be lessons related to this project, it takes me ages to fathom them out, but eventually something clicks and I start to understand some new ‘truth’ or aspect I had missed or got wrong, but this time I think the entire experience was to give me joy, to give me a greater peace and a feeling that I was right in my belief in spiritual worlds beyond our own.  And maybe to give me some healing help, I definitely felt a little better afterwards – or maybe it was just the rest in the sun! Who knows.
