Margot Grey – Return from Death
Before my sense of awe turned into fear, my sister who was killed in 1949 aged 20 appeared, a woman of 43; but her face had no lines of physical life and her smile was joyous. My awe became delight.
'Mary Elizabeth' I said 'I am so happy to be here'
'I know' she answered 'but you must go back for five reasons'
With that she brought my five children in turn, naming each one. I was overwhelmed. I had no choice. I was being wrenched away – I was angry – I was back... I was alive and with the will to live, in the knowledge of a renewed sense of life and a heightened understanding of what we call death.
