Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

Of the four types of people listed here only one is not driven by 'need' - wanting something or desire.  The 'knower' needs nothing, and comes not asking for anything but wanting to do something for his Higher spirit - to give and not take.  Not many around like this but destined to be the 'gods' of the future

A description of the experience

The Bhagavad Gita [translated by W J Johnson]

Four kinds of good men share in me – the oppressed, the man who desires knowledge, the man whose object is prosperity and the one who knows

Of these, the continuously disciplined knower, whose devotion is exclusive, is outstanding, for I am extraordinarily dear to the man who knows and he is dear to me

Indeed these four are all illustrious, but the knower I consider to be myself, ….

It is only after many births that the possessor of knowledge  turns to me … so great a spirit is very hard to find

The source of the experience

Bhagavad Gita
