I’m off to see my Lover
His image sits I my heart
Now nothing gives solace
Oh the citizens sleepwalk,
Their world groggy with ignorance
But I hold vigils all night.
Who can understand such dark passion
Full of his love
How could I sleep?
When it rains,
Does anyone drink from the gutter
No, I say
At midnight I will go, half mad for him
To slake my thirst
At his fountain
