Sunbeams
The sky it is cloudy, the rain it is falling, it is June but it’s cold and it’s grey
You would think that my heart would be heavy with sadness at such a cold miserable day
But I spoke to you, spoke to you, long and with laughter your voice was so soft and so kind
And we laughed and we chattered, for ages, we chattered of nothing and you didn’t mind
And the sun in my heart fills my head with its sunbeams, so bright no grey day could destroy
Cos you said you would ring me tomorrow, tomorrow and my heart has been filled with just joy
