A description of the experience
Pictish stones were used as signposts to enable pilgrims to find sacred sites and this fragment of a stone from Rothiebrisbane, shows the twin horns [whose symbolism is explained in the entry for this symbol - follow the link]. It also shows a sacred place - the circular enclosure and three buildings.
The symbol was also used for direction finding using the stars and constellations and the likely constellation in this case is the Ram - Aries. This stone was re-used in a wall and all the directional information is missing, as the stone was broken.
