The next incident is so explicitly set forth in the following letter, that words from me would be superfluous-

DEAR MR. TURVEY,

Bournemouth,

Feb. 12, 1908.

In reply to yours of yesterday's date referring to my visit on Sunday afternoon last, I willingly bear witness to the fact you mention, viz. that on Sunday last, between 4 and 5 p.m. you described to me (but not for me) the spirit of a young sailor who had been drowned in a warm part of the ocean (Indian or African) ; you also said he was walking about the larger part of your double drawing-room (we were sitting in the smaller part). You also thought he was intended for some one in the Hall where you were going to give Clairvoyance at 8 p.m that night. I mentioned it to Mr. Hiscock on Monday morning, and he told me it was recognized by a gentleman in the Hall. It is past my ken. I only know what I write is true.
