Patterns of Prophecy – Alan Vaughan

As April 1972 approached, San Francisco's prophets of earthquake once again became active. This year, April 22nd  was the date most favoured in the Earthquake Sweepstakes for the Big Quake.

I sent in my entry to San Francisco's Mayor Alioto for May 22, but emphasized that any quake would be less serious than the 1971 Los Angeles quake.

Experimenting with a synchronistic system for arriving at precise times and dates, I predicted that

"it will be of a strength between 3.5 and 3.6 on the Richter scale and that it will happen at approximately 8: 18 p.m. New York time, or 5: 18 p.m. San Francisco time.''

Either my method doesn't work, or I got the wrong year.
