Alma Deutscher - How an 11-year-old prodigy composed an opera
Type of spiritual experience
Skipping - which is a sort of relaxing form of repetitive exercise, but she swings the rope and this is like swinging swaying and rocking with a rope rather than the body to provide a beat.
A description of the experience
Alma Deutscher began playing the piano when she was two, and violin at age three. Now she's written and composed her first opera. Her achievements are drawing comparisons with another child prodigy, Mozart. Alma's opera version of "Cinderella" premiers this week in Vienna, where Mozart spent much of his adult life. Seth Doane spoke with her during the rehearsals.
