From certain observations and various episodes which I described to him, Dr. E- recognised my mediumistic gift at the very start of our relationship. Among other things, I mentioned that since my childhood I had seen "auras"- that sort of visible fluorescence which for mediums surrounds the body of every living person. The way of seeing auras differs greatly. For some a luminous zone, distinguishable by its colours, intensity and range, surrounds the whole body. Personally I saw auras limited to the head, but they were very clear and varied in form. Later, when my powers of clairvoyance developed, they were a great aid in the diagnosis and study of the physical and moral personality of my clients, the auras varying with the state of health and the intellectual and moral status of each individual.
