Soon after my husband had had a long and painful overhaul of his teeth by an extremely expensive continental dentist – one I had begged him not to stay with, incidentally, as I 'knew 'he would do him harm - Mary said, pointing out an upper molar;
'You've got an incipient abscess in that tooth. I can see it coming in your etheric body.'
Etheric body! I winced.
But my husband laughed. 'You're wrong this time,' he said. 'That tooth has just been passed by an expert dentist as perfect, and anyway I feel no pain.'
'Go and get an X-ray,' she retorted, and partly to prove her wrong, he did so.
She won.
Our own dentist complained indignantly that the extremely expensive dentist had made a bad mess of the tooth and there was an abscess beginning to form in it.
