Background

A description of the experience

Described in Croiset the Clairvoyant - Jack Harrison Pollack

Peter Jansen is a forty-two-year-old former private detective whose interest stems from when he was seventeen years old and was unjustly accused by his father of-having stolen 180 guilders even though his model brother was later proved to be the thief.

This paragnost was once consulted two months after a firm’s cashbox and revolver were stolen. The head of the company put on the table a key to the cashbox, the case holding the revolver, and a sealed envelope containing a list of the employees' names.

The clairvoyant asked to be blindfolded, touched these objects, drew some sketches, and stamped on the floor with his right foot. He then announced that the culprit was not the suspected maid Lientje but the other maid, Sonja, who had stolen the key from Lientje’s pocket and given it to a male friend. The paragnost described this man, including where he was staying, sought him out, got him to sign a full confession, and even recovered the revolver which the thief had sold.
