A description of the experience

The Art of Dying – Drs Peter and Elizabeth Fenwick

The following account conveys the enormous emotional significance these moments have for the relatives who experience them.

My mother passed away 15 years ago and I experienced something quite indescribable a few hours before she passed. I saw beautiful circles of light around the room and felt something so peaceful that it is hard to forget. I kept rubbing my eyes, thinking I was imagining things, but they were still there. One could argue that I was extremely tired, as I had had no sleep, but I felt so peaceful and it was as if the room was glowing in a shade of warm orange. My mother passed away a couple of hours later. I will never forget the experience.
