J Tanner describes how one day her mother popped in to visit her grandmother who told her: ‘I can’t understand it. I just saw my mother standing in the doorway as clearly as I can see you’. She continues:
Her mother had been dead for probably 30 years. At that time my grandmother was no more ill than she had been for the past two or three years and perfectly lucid. My mother told me she instantly had a sense of foreboding - she had always heard that we see the 'ghosts' of dead relatives just before our own death.
The next day, my grandmother suffered a massive stroke from which she never regained consciousness. After lying in a coma for four days, she died.
