A man reported a similar increase in his understanding of himself when he was able to remember his childhood NDE, during hypnotherapy. He remembered an incident when he was six years old and the garage door closed on his head. At the time of the event, he had been unconscious and hospitalized for several days.
He told his mother of details that occurred during that time of unresponsiveness, but his mother told him that he was just guessing and making it up; so his young mind repressed the whole situation, including the NDE. It was not until he underwent hypnotherapy twenty years later that he remembered the events surrounding the accident. At the time that he told me the story, he was still working with the memories-some two years after he first begun to remember them.
