Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

A combination of circumstances and techniques contributed to this experience – unrequited love, grief and the use of concentration methods, with some small input from controlled breathing.

A description of the experience

Dorothy Walters – Unmasking the Rose

I took powerful, sweet energy into the head, and experienced what Thompson calls a "sexualized brain," and a "conscious" body. The feelings were strong and intense. The main centers affected were the brain and the sexual centers. Are these the second and sixth chakras? …….. In any event, all of the pelvic area and all of the brain area were involved. I was aware of little feeling in the throat, chest, or navel.

The energies seemed to leap from lower to higher centers and then flow ecstatically back and forth. I felt that Shiva had indeed united with Shakti, that energy outside my head (the energy of everything that is) flowed into my skull, flooding my being with delight. The experience lasted for as long as I did not think about what I was doing. Each time I became "self-conscious," the sensations diminished. I finally quit of my own accord, thinking it best not to continue too long.
