A description of the experience
My mother waited outside my cubicle whilst the doctor treated me. Mother saw at once something had happened and indeed it had. Dr Galpine declared me to be dead and tried to comfort my mother at the ward door. At this time I awoke in another world.
I stood on the top of a beautiful valley, the sun was so warm. It seemed to stretch way into the distance. Suddenly I felt a powerful presence close to me. A voice spoke to me saying ‘Don’t be afraid, everything will be alright’ – a wonderful, deep, vibrant voice I could not locate – and looking further, I noticed that I was fully clothed but did not cast a shadow. This puzzled me, for there were no shadows down the valley.
I then knew I was in the presence of God, though I could not see him. He then covered me with an invisible force field, which felt so warm and safe. I remember thinking what happened to the terrible pain that I had been in, for it had gone and I felt so well. Then I reawoke in the hospital bed with Dr Galpine bending over me.
Mother told me that he had suddenly turned back to the bed and could not believe I was alive and conscious.
