The Wisdom of Near Death Experiences - Dr Penny Sartori

Shelley's account of the premonition of her fiance’s death is described earlier. A short while after his death Shelley reported the following:

What happened to me is quite lengthy. It happened around 12 days after Steven's crash. Steven and I frequently texted one another during the day and my mobile was always close by. I was in hospital, it was a Sunday night and Dirty Dancing had been on TV.  Watching their relationship in the film caused me to get almost hysterical with grief and I became worried, as I couldn't control the emotion. I was lucky as, being on a cancer ward, I was surrounded by women who were far older (and deafer) than me and I was crying and left on my own. The nurses were aware of my crying but I told them I'd be ok and they were busy with other patients.

I was saying over and over, 'I love you.' As I got to the point that I really thought I was going to go mad with grief, as people always say, my phone beeped three times, something it had never done before.

The noise it made wasn't the familiar text alert but it shocked me out of my grief for a second and I checked the phone but hadn't received a text or phone call. I started crying again and saying, 'I love you.,

Each time I said it, the phone beeped three times. I didn't realize for a while, as I’d have breaks from crying and then the emotion would well up again. By the time I realized what was happening, this had been going on for around 15 minutes, The phone only beeped when I said, 'I love you.'

I started talking to the phone as it was lying on my bedside table. I didn't ask if it was Steven.

This started to calm me down and after a while longer, I started to feel tired. I remember saying to the phone that I was getting sleepy now and that no doubt he was, too. I said, 'I love you' one more time.

The phone bleeped three more times and then went silent.

It never did this again and, around three weeks after I left hospital, it fell apart in my hands as I was talking to Steven's brother. I've still got the phone, though. There are other parts to this but I’d be writing all night, so, if it is something you're interested in, I'll elaborate another time.
