Background

A description of the experience

Faust part two – Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

The Younger Angels  I sense a presence near
                                    Drifts of mist, wreathing
Round the high summit here –
                                    Spirit forms weaving
                                    Now through the clearing cloud
                                    I see a lively crowd
                                    Of blessed boys
Freed from the weight of earth
                                    All in a ring
                                    Tasting the joys
                                    Of their rebirth
                                    Into celestial spring
                                    Let him begin his rise
                                    Into the purer skies
                                    Under their wing

The blessed boys     Gladly we now receive
                                    This spirit chrysalis
                                    Thereby we shall achieve
                                     Pledge of the angel bliss
                                     Loosen the thread of earth
                                     That still impede him
                                     Transfigured to new birth
                                     We shall soon lead him
