Overload
Overload is synonymous with overdose. Because it is overdose - meaning too much - it is usually associated with pain and as a consequence hurt of some sort.
What is too much depends on what it is we are using and what organs are affected. Vitamin A in the quantities found in food is not overdose. But take it as a supplement or have carrot juice in vast quantities and it is overdose. It becomes a poison.
Thus a poison is simply any substance we have taken at the wrong dose.
No substances are inherently poisonous, no activities are inherently hurtful, it is when they are taken to excess that they become so. Homeopathy works on this principle. Even chemicals like strychnine and arsenic at the minutest minutest doses have their positive uses.
Their strength is called their potency.
It is only when we use a substance or activity at the wrong potencies that they become overdoses – overload.
What is excessive depends on the activity, the substance and the creature or person. A bar of chocolate given to a dog can kill it.
‘Dose’ of anything should be height, weight, species and age dependent. You will see on this website that I have included thousands of examples of people who have had hallucinations from pharmaceuticals. The pharmaceutical industry appear to be the biggest contributor to involuntary experience via overdose that we have ever known. And it is because doctors prescribe without considering height, weight, age and also extent of problem – how far the balance of our pendulum has swung in the wrong direction – or the cause of the symptoms
All our functions are to be physically ‘found’ in specific organs of the body. The various organs of the brain for example have specific functions, the liver has specific functions – see Aggregates and the Brain and its functions as well as the Body and its functions.
Any sort of overload functionally has its effect on the physical organ itself. It ‘resonates’ it – shakes it – like a little rag doll. The greater the Intensity of function, the more the organ suffers. It is like taking a car along a very bumpy road, eventually the shaking and shaking and shaking loosens nuts and bolts and damages springs and the car wears out.
So it is with our bodies.
If we over stimulate our organs too often and too long, by overloading the functions that work them, we damage them.
So the danger of using overload as a strategy is that it can affect our health.
Any form of activity that uses overload needs to be undertaken infrequently.
For some scientific information on how high emotion damages health see the Physical effects of high Emotion.
