Symbols - What does heaven look like

Boar

Symbolically equivalent to the Bull – see Bull and Cow.  Its tusks are equivalent in this context to horns.  In terms of power it is difficult to tell symbolically at what level the boar is placed as a representation of an Intelligence in the Intelligence hierarchy.  For many Celtic cultures it was the most powerful symbol but of course they had never seen an elephant!

Symbolism in use

The Boar is often found in Norse mythology.  Linked to both Freyr and Frejya, its body often formed the crest on helmets representing a potent sign of protection and ferocity in battle. The Wild Boar was the mightiest of the totem animals of the Vanir.
