Introduction and description

Yinqiaosan is a TCM [Traditional Chinese medicine formula] used for influenza, coughs and colds. It generally contains the following dried herbs and flowers [note that being a herbal preparation the formula and quantities may vary]. I have included an observation that shows that there is scientific evidence amassing that some of the ingredients are indeed effective against the flu virus

  • Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle Flower or Lonicera; Flos Lonicerae Japonicae);
  • Lian Qiao (Forsythia Fruit , Fructus Forsythiae Suspensae);
  • Jie Geng (Root of the Balloon Flower, Platycodi Radix);
  • Niu Bang Zi (Great Burdock Fruit, Fructus Arctii Lappae);
