WHAT AND WHERE IS HEAVEN?

Does heaven exist? With well over 100,000 plus recorded and described spiritual experiences collected over 15 years, to base the answer on, science can now categorically say yes. Furthermore, you can see the evidence for free on the website allaboutheaven.org.

VISIONS AND HALLUCINATIONS

This book, which covers Visions and hallucinations, explains what causes them and summarises how many hallucinations have been caused by each event or activity. It also provides specific help with questions people have asked us, such as ‘Is my medication giving me hallucinations?’.

Method

The following provides links to the science section describing various instruments that can be used to provide biofeedback.  An indication on what they measure and how they can be used is provide here, but the science section provides a fuller description:

EEG – the Electroencephalograph

An electroencephalograph (EEG) measures the electrical activation of the brain from scalp sites located over the human cortex. The EEG shows the amplitude of electrical activity at each cortical site, the amplitude and relative power of various wave forms at each site, and the degree to which each cortical site fires in conjunction with other cortical sites (coherence and symmetry).

Clearly, the EEG has a role in the diagnosis of illness, but it also has an invaluable role as an aid to help train the mind of those meditating or using relaxation or contemplation methods, into states conducive to spiritual experience.  Theta brain waves are known to be the most conducive to OBEs and some of the more advanced states such as ecstasy and moksha.

David Scott Rogo - Leaving the Body: A Complete Guide to Astral Projection

The possible discovery of a link between theta waves and the OBE holds out a very special promise to people who wish to induce the experience. It is possible to learn how to generate theta waves through bio-feedback, and nurturing such a capability may lead to the development of OBE skills. Dr. Elmer Green has been studying biofeedback techniques for several years in Topeka, Kansas, at the Menninger Foundation, an institute devoted solely to psychological research. He has had singular success in teaching people to control their brain waves, including theta waves. In fact, Green has publicly stated that people who develop control over theta waves start having psychic experiences as a result.

A pneumograph or respiratory strain gauge

A pneumograph is used to detect and correct so called ‘dysfunctional breathing’. Thus it can be used to help with lung diseases , anxiety and stress and to help with determining whether the controlled breathing techniques are being correctly employed

Capnometer

A capnometer provides biofeedback to supplement respiratory strain gauge biofeedback with patients diagnosed with anxiety disorders, asthma, chronic pulmonary obstructive disorder (COPD), essential hypertension, panic attacks, and stress and to help with determining whether the controlled breathing techniques are being correctly employed.

Electromyograph or EMG

The EMG is a machine for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. This machine is used for any disease involving the muscular system or the skeletal system.   The same machine can be used in controlled breathing exercises during training.

Pulse oximetry

Pulse oximetry is a non-invasive method of monitoring the oxygenation of a patient's haemoglobin.  They are used in emergency medicine and are also very useful for patients with respiratory or cardiac problems, especially COPD, or for diagnosis of some sleep disorders such as apnea and hypopnea.  They can also be used to help with determining whether the controlled breathing techniques are being correctly employed.

Spirometry

Spirometry is a painless study of air volume and flow rate in the lungs. It is frequently used to evaluate lung function in people with diseases such as asthma or cystic fibrosis. It can also be used to help with determining whether the controlled breathing techniques are being correctly employed.

Thermistors

A thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance is dependent on temperature. The word is a portmanteau of thermal and resistor. Thermistors are used in the context of biofeedback to measure the temperature of a person, principally because thermistors can achieve a greater precision within a limited temperature range, typically −90 °C to 130 °.  In experiments on the ability of a person to use Tummo, for example, (Tibetan: gtum-mo; Sanskrit: caṇḍālī) thermistors are used.  Tummo is a form of Yoga, particularly one of the methods of the Kagyu Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. This practice of meditation may be best known for its alleged ability to produce body heat – the Heat of the Mystic.
