Levitation

Levitation (from Latin levitas "lightness") is the process by which an object is suspended by a physical force against gravity, in a stable position without solid physical contact. Within science it is a recognised occurrence and is achieved by applying any electromagnetic force which then ‘counteracts gravity’, magnetic levitation is the most common method used in science. Having said this there are methods that use an electric field, streams of air, sound waves, light [in a process they call photon momentum transfer], and manipulation of the so-called Casimir force.

“Scientists have levitated frogs, grasshoppers, and mice by means of powerful electromagnets utilizing superconductors, producing diamagnetic repulsion of body water. The mice acted confused at first, but adapted to the levitation after approximately four hours, suffering no immediate ill effects”.. or so they say.

So scientifically it is proven, but few scientists appear to believe that humans can levitate themselves. If we just look at the wording above [from Wikipedia] it should start to make us a little suspect, however, of whether scientists actually understand what is going on even in areas they now believe it can work. “Physical force against gravity”? The law of gravity is a function, which means that to oppose this one has to apply an opposing function. As such anyone who knows this opposing function should be able to levitate.

There are a great number of reports in very old documents of levitation in people. Occasionally it is extremely difficult to tell whether this is true levitation or out of body, but in some cases the reports do seem quite clear. I believe it is and was possible.

A number of very prestigious scientists also investigated the area of levitation in the 1800s including Albert De Rochas D'Aiglun [ Levitation of the human body] and in Abbot Ribet's Divine Mysticism (Paris, Poussielgue, 1883. Three vol., gr. in-8), chapter XXXII of the volume (Exemption from the law of gravity... Suspension, ascension, ecstatic flight... Supernatural agility outside ecstasy. St. Christine the admirable air travel... Energy of this ascending attraction... Walk on the waters... Explanation of this phenomenon);

In the Physics of Magic published in Germany by Baron Karl de Prel, chapter VII of the 1st volume, the chapter entitled: Gravitation and Levitation, is one in which the author tries to establish a physical theory of the phenomenon based on the polarization of gravity.

What is perhaps a big step in the right direction is that these days if you said you could levitate you would face merely scorn and perhaps a little condescending laughter, but once upon a time being able to really fly was a dangerous business, you could be accused of being a witch……

Flying or levitation was …associated with witchcraft. When it came to female saints, there was a certain ambivalence expressed by theologians, canon lawyers, inquisitors, and male hagiographers towards the powers that they were purported to have. By 1500, the image of the female saint in popular imagination had become similar to that of the witch. Both witches and female saints were suspected of flying through the air, whether in saintly levitation or bilocation, or in a witches’ Sabbath.

William Penn, an American, took a less complicated stance as presiding judge in the trial of the witch of Ridley Creek, who was accused of having ridden on a broomstick. When she voluntarily confessed to these flights, he freed her since, as he said, he knew of no law forbidding flying about at night.
