Background

The Ball Court is a different size to that at Copan and a greatly different size to that at Chchen Itza.  Again, this was not a court for ball games - at least not the sort we may think of - see the Chichen Itza entry for a full explanation.

The ring in the ball court is the Egg with its unmoving mover centre and the wheel of life around.  The court has been dated to AD 905, and Lord Chac's name appears very prominently and repeatedly.
