Background
One of the rather strange things about science is that once it has found a power and named it, the questioning ceases. We talk of gravity quite blithely, but no one questions how gravity works. We even have an equation for gravity - well if there is an equation - a mathematical formula, where is that mathematical formula?
The answer is that it is a function - a program is you prefer - held in every atom and here we have the proof
A description of the experience
Lyall Watson – The Water Planet
The total quantity of water on earth has remained constant during most of our history, but it has never, of course, been equally distributed. Ever since the first great rains, the vast majority of our water supply has gathered above ground in the ocean basins. About 317 million cubic miles or 97.2% of all water is still there. But it is never still. In theory, there is a direct attraction between every drop of sea water and even the most distant star in the universe. Gravity ties all matter together in an infinite and vibrant web.
But in practise, it is only our local star, the sun and its satellite the moon, that exert overt influence. Working sometimes in concert and sometimes in opposition to create the ebb and flow of the tides…………
The lunar effect is the strongest, tugging insistently at water on earth’s surface, pulling it away from the body of the planet like a loose garment. Whole oceans flow out towards the moon, bringing high tide to any land that happens to lie in that direction and doing so again the next day, precisely 48 minutes later………..
Every drop of water in the world still responds to cosmic call and infinitesimal neap tides can be measured in pools as isolated and confined as a cup of tea.
