The sensation of leaving one’s body is a frequent occurrence in LSD sessions. Some individuals have experienced themselves completely detached from their physical bodies, hovering above them or watching them from another part of the room. Occasionally, the subject can also lose awareness of the physical setting of the session and his consciousness moves into various realms and subjective realities that appear to be entirely independent of material reality. Less frequently, this experience has the form of travelling clairvoyance and clairaudience, in which the individual feels himself moving to another place in the physical world and can give a detailed description of the situation he encounters.
