True and False Mind

The original mind and the false mind are not two distinct entities. The original mind is the "original countenance," which is there before our parents give birth to us; having no form, it has no origination and no extinction. It is the physical body that is borne by our parents; since the mind is formless and immaterial, we cannot say our parents have given birth to it. It is inherently there in the body when people are born.
