Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

The lady herself and her closeness to her husband may have been more help than the objects she brought.  In effect, she was the bridge not the objects.

A description of the experience

Mary Rose Barrington, Ian Stevenson and Zofia Weaver, A World in a Grain of Sand: The Clairvoyance of Stefan Ossowiecki,  2005.

Case 1: Report of Maria Boltuc – 2 September 1939;   Source: Letter to Zofia Ossowiecka dated 24 June 1947, Alexander Imich archives; Jacyna, Jerzy 3/1/71, Borud & Borud-Jagodzirtska, 1990, pp 98-99

It describes a visit made by Mrs. Boltuc to Ossowiecki on 24 September 7939, a time of great stress in wartime Poland, when she was desperately anxious about her husband, General Mikolaj Boltuc.

I took my husband’s cap and photograph with me. The engineer closed himself with me in a small room and unheeding of his own peril (everybody was fleeing to the cellars) quietly attained a state of deep concentration. Presently he started to relate.

My husband was walking with a large detachment, he saw officers beside him.

He described it vividly and with great detail [so] that I recognized Major Kunc, Captain Kwiatkowski and others. He saw my husband receiving a wound in the neck and falling into a ditch, trying to rise while blood spurted from the wound.

He told me my husband greatly needed assistance and bade me go through the Zohborz district promptly, along the high road to a small bridge with white houses in the foreground and seek him there. To my father he confided that my husband's condition was very grave, nay, hopeless.

On the 25th....I received ... a safe-conduct. Equipped with ... the instructions of Engineer Ossowiecki I departed on my quest.  I did not, alas, find my husband alive. He had, as described by Ossowiecki, been wounded in the neck and had swiftly died of hemorrhage.

On the neighboring graves I deciphered the names of the officers whom Ossowiecki had seen near my husband in his vision.
