Experiment 2- Sealed letter

On …11th May 1924, another experiment took place. It concerned two letters: one was in an open envelope with a Russian postage stamp; the other, sealed, was handed over by Mr. Michal Slosarski.

At 10 p.m. Mr. Ossowiecki started to speak:

"This takes me to Szkolna Street No. 6-8, in the period 1915,1916. Was he in the army?"

A long pause.

"This second letter keeps getting tangled" (he picks up the other letter). "I blame you."

A two minute pause. The second letter, sealed, has been put down.

Without holding it, Ossowiecki says:

"Get writing: Withold ... [long pause] Slosarski ... during the years, at the beginning of the war, year 1914-15, reserve standard-bearer of the Orenburg regiment. I see barracks in the Vilnius area. Some name keeps getting tangled close to him: Gunrach, Gundelach, Witold ... Stanislaw ... no, Stanislawowich (the son of Stanislaw), he wrote to Slosarski, to his brother, his last letter before dying, to Szkolna Street 8. Soon after that he went into battle. I see a small town, small houses, little trees in front of them, women in white at his side ... nurses. He died after an illness."

A long pause.

“Slosarski, a technologist, has a technology office. The brother wrote to him to reassure mother. The letter was short. He died wounded in an attack. I see what he looks like: dark blond, has a mother and a sister. He was killed in 1915, he wrote the letter from the hospital.  He died in terrible agony, close to Orsza.."

The letter was in fact from the brother of Mr. Slosarski, and was reassuring in tone. Slosarski was a co-owner of a private firm and lived at Szkolna Street No.8 in Warsaw. He can confirm the facts with his signatures, although he was not present, as his brother really had been wounded and died in hospital.
