After this experience it seems that I was able to leave my body.

This would occur at night and I would simply get out of it and see it lying in bed.

My husband was working for the forest service and was gone at night, and I would be afraid.  But it seems like I could just get out of my body and see it lying there and go check on everything.  We were living in a house trailer at the time.

The first time it happened, it was just a matter of weeks after my accident.  It was a spontaneous thing.  I was very concerned because I was hearing noises, it was late at night.  I don’t have any recollections of time.  Time seemed irrelevant and that seemed odd because I am a compulsive clock watcher.  I left my body.  I just ‘walked’ back and forth within the trailer looking out of the windows and everything to make sure everything was all right and then I went back ….

And I had powers to go to whatever height I wanted and I was not limited, as I am in my physical body.  I was very lucid while I was outside of it.  I guess I floated, because I don’t recall walking.  While I was sleeping, I was anxious about leaving the body there, almost as if I resented it for not waking up.  It was as if ‘you lazy creature, you’re just going to lie there and let these things happen to you’.

The next time it happened, I realised I was unlimited.  I went down the street and came back.  It was just a deserted neighborhood at night, but it scared me to leave the body unattended there in the trailer.  And I remembered thinking that the body couldn’t function without this part of me in it.  That it would lie there and sleep and that someone would do something to it before I could get back in.  That scared me so I didn’t leave the trailer anymore.

One time while out of body I found a door open in back.  I mean wide open.  The back door in the trailer.  I left by body and travelled down to the end of the hall and the back door was standing wide open and we never used that door.  We always came in and left by the front door.  It was as if I couldn’t do anything about it in this state, apparently when I was like this I had no physical capabilities.  I had the power of looking and that’s it.  So I went back and got in my body.  Then I got up physically and went back there and the door was open.
