Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

A fascinating short quote.

Plato defined soul as being the combination of mortal soul [functions of the 'body' as it were] with an immortal soul [Higher spirit].  As such he is saying Planet earth has a Higher spirit - 'Mother Earth', as some have called it.

And our planet has functions which are applicable to the planet as a whole - the aggregate.

It tilts, it revolves, it displays magnetic polarity..  Thus it displays a form of mortal soul

As an aggregate occurrence it must also have an identifier if it has functions.  To have an identifier it must have a 'Higher spirit'.

A description of the experience

Plato, Timaeus, 29/30; 4th century BCE

Therefore, we may consequently state that: this world is indeed a living being endowed with a soul and intelligence ... a single visible living entity containing all other living entities, which by their nature are all related

The source of the experience

Plato
