Background
A description of the experience
Time and kisses
Adapted from a poem by Heinrich Heine
Who was it, please tell me, who was it who reckoned
Time by the hour, the minute, the second?
A man without soul, without heart or light
He sat and he thought in the long winter’s night
And counted the pattering steps of the mouse
And the chomp of the woodworm that gnawed at the house
Now kisses! Please tell me, who discovered the pleasure
The warm happy mouth to be savoured at leisure
To be kissed without ceasing, kissed without care
To be kissed in the summer in warm weather fair
A man, with a soul, with a heart, did discover
Time it had stopped for him and his lover
