Spinoza, Baruch - Ethics - The essence of man

Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

Spinoza's full argument was that God - the Ultimate Intelligence - consisted of a vast number of attributes [functions] and that given that God was the ultimate of all creation we could not have an attribute that God did not possess.  As such, given that the world consisted of a host of other things with other attributes - functions - we must have a subset of the atributes of God [a tiny subset given the number of things in the universe]
