Background

A description of the experience

Uphill – the parable of life

Does life’s road wind uphill all the way?
Yes to the very end
Is the journey this hard the whole of the day?
From dawn to dusk my friend

But is there sometimes a resting place
A safe haven when dark hours begin
A sanctuary where safety has me in embrace?
You cannot miss this inn

Will I meet a friend in this place for the night
Yes, she will have gone before
Then must I knock, or call when  in sight?
She never locks the door

Shall I find comfort, tired and weak?
Of solace you’ll find the sum
Will there be love of the sort that I seek?
There’s unquestioning love when you come

The source of the experience

Jelling, Lily
