Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

Here Credo relates an old legend that embodies much symbolism and wisdom about the spiritual world

A description of the experience

Vusamazulu Credo Mutwa – Zulu Shaman [Dreams, Prophecies and Mysteries]

Nommo explained that the gods used to have a chain which connected all the worlds together and that at one time people could climb up and down this chain to visit any world they chose....

But because of the sinfulness of human beings, who still have not learned their lesson about violence, the great and angry god, Ngungi, who is the lord of all the blacksmiths, had been sent to break this chain, so that human beings would not be able to visit worlds among the stars.  So it is said that when human beings become peaceful, less ambitious, less greedy and less cruel, the gods will restore this chain, so that people will be able to visit other worlds in the universe and the gods themselves and the intelligent and kindly creatures from other worlds will be able to visit us, both in our sleep and in our waking world
