Patterns of Prophecy – Alan Vaughan
In one instance, on a Sunday morning while I was reading The New York Times, I felt a deep depression come over me for no apparent reason.
I paused and tried to reason it out. But when I returned to reading about the scheduled launch of the Gemini VI spacecraft, the depression grew greater. Then I realized that something must be wrong with the Gemini VI that could cause disaster.
I told a number of friends about this foreboding but felt helpless to prevent any disaster since I did not know exactly what was wrong with the spaceship.
Fortunately, the Gemini VI space launch was postponed after a misfire of some electrical switch. When the technicians checked over the ship again, they found a plastic cap in a fuel line-and fined the manufacturer $25,000 for this blundering oversight that could have caused disaster.
Later, the ship was launched without mishap.
