Premonitions: A leap in to the future – Herbert Greenhouse [1971]

As an economist Lady Rhys-Williams had a penchant for seeing non-existent articles and photos relating to her speciality. She would act on the information, only to discover that the article she thought she had "read" was not there. This would often cause her embarrassment, but invariably the article would appear, the next day or a few days later.

In 1958, she "saw" another paragraph in the Times, accompanied by a photograph of a three-bedroom house that could be built for a thousand pounds. At the time she was chairman of a town council and was concerned about the high cost of homes. She asked her secretary to clip out the article and picture and show them to the chief architect. The secretary combed the newspaper but found no such items. The next day the news story appeared along with the picture of a home with a sloping roof on one side -just as Lady Rhys-Williams had seen it in the imaginary photo.
