Premonitions: A leap in to the future – Herbert Greenhouse [1971]

"THE PRESIDENT IS SHOT"

On Wednesday night, two days before the assassination, a little girl lay sleeping in a home for handicapped children.

The child was a deaf mute and could communicate only by sign language. This night she slept restlessly because she was having a disturbing dream.

During the night the child rose from her bed, still asleep, and walked down the hall, turning into the room of a young friend, also a deaf mute. The second little girl woke up and watched as the first gestured with her hands. The words spelled out: "The President is shot."

As she had been sleep-walking, the first girl didn't remember next morning what had happened. At breakfast, however, with the other children and the superintendent gathered around the table, the second child related the story.

Two days later, on Friday, April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in Ford's Theater, Washington.
