Rosalind Heywood – The Infinite Hive
A nice, simple, motherly woman told me spontaneously that she had split soon after the birth of her baby: one of her continued to lie in the bed while the other stood by its side. I asked her a few casual questions, among them,
'What did you both think of each other?’
She replied at once, with emphasis,
'The Me outside looked on the Me in bed with profound contempt devoid of all feeling’.
