Background
The NDE person may be given a life review which is a run through of their past perceptions. Whether they get this or not depends a lot on whether the review is of help to them at that stage of their life. Occasionally a review helps the person see what the next steps in life need to be. Children hardly ever have reviews, not because their lives are too short, but because they are children still and don't need guidance on what to do next.
The review, is intended to help the person see their destiny - what they are here for - and help them make a decision. It is not intended to be in any way judgemental
Thus they may see a rapid review of the whole of their life, or a partial review covering only the pertinent points. The images are usually very vivid because they are obtained from the person's perceptions.
What perhaps is more intriguing is that they are sometimes shown the future plan for them – how they fit into the scheme of things. This is generally forgotten until those events suddenly happen and they realise they have already seen them before. It should be emphasised here that there is no doubt that the person has free will, but it is also clear that like any huge project there is a plan and people are given tasks and the tasks are linked together. How the tasks are undertaken seems to be very much up to the individual [as in any large project] and the option does exist to not do the task. The plan also seems [as in most plans] to be revised as and when need be.
This person had her experience whilst she was being operated upon after an automobile accident.

I had a very – it seems a though it was fast – I had a span of my life, just, - just everything that happened. Highlights of various very happy points in my life coming up and going backwards.. all fanned out in front of me. Very rapidly. Just kind of went past me like a million and one thoughts...
[was it like seeing a movie in some way?]
Very fast movie. Just highlights, just certain things
[were they mostly positive things?]
Very – everything was positive there.
I was a spectator, I was just watching them.

The only thing I felt judged by would be myself. Like in the very beginning, when I thought about the good things, then it felt like I'd just run through my life and I'd think of all the stupid things... all the mistakes I've made. I think the judging was mainly myself judging myself
