Background

A description of the experience

Croiset the Clairvoyant - Jack Harrison Pollack

I observed Tholen's precognitive powers myself on June 5th, 1960. Croiset's protege then said to me, in the presence of an official of The Netherlands National Tourist Office,

"It is a mistake for your President Eisenhower to visit Japan. I see trouble ahead for a member of his staff who is being bothered by a crowd of people."

Two days later, presidential press secretary James Hagerty, while in Japan making arrangements for the visit, was stoned by a mob and had to be rescued by an American helicopter. On June 16th, Ike had to cancel his trip to Japan. Two years later when I casually mentioned this strange image to Hagerty at a Society of Magazine Writers dinner, he asked, "How did that Dutch clairvoyant know ahead of time what was going to happen to me in Japan?”

"If I knew that answer, Jim," I replied, “I'd know the answer to the universe."
