Mrs A. Bell is an only child who 'loved her father beyond words'. When he was dying of cancer 20 years ago:
We spent ten dreadful days with him in hospital in Southampton. The day he died we had all spent the day with him. My husband and I left at around 5 or 6 p.m. to go home to our young children in Surrey. My mother stayed with him. On our way home I felt this blue light come to me as if he were saying goodbye. It was a jolt, a feeling - I cannot describe it, I did not understand it at the time - but when we got home I was told that he had died at that moment.
I will never forget it - he definitely came to me to wish me well and tell me he was on his way, Mum was with him but I was not and that is why he came to me.
