A description of the experience

Dorothy Walters – Unmasking the Rose

What is kundalini? From where does its energy arise? Snake, flower, bird - each in a way metaphorically describes some aspect of its manifestation. But does it have a physiological base or pattern, a traceable path of action?

Why does it manifest as sexual energy in the head? Why is it sexually pleasurable? What is the physical source of any pleasant sexual feeling? Is it merely the flow of blood through certain vessels located in the genital area? Does increase of pressure beget pleasure? If so, why here and not in other bodily regions like toes, wrists, or navel? If increase of blood flowing through the head produces bliss, why don't we get "turned on" by standing on our heads?

The source of the experience

Walters, Dorothy
