Background

A description of the experience

Amitril is a  tricyclic antidepressant (TCA).  It is used to treat a number of mental disorders, including major depressive disorder and anxiety, and less commonly psychosis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and bipolar disorder. Other uses include prevention of migraines, postherpetic neuralgia, neuropathic pain such as fibromyalgia, and less commonly insomnia [sic].

Side effects may include seizures, an increased risk of suicide , urinary retention, and a number of heart issues. They should not be taken with MAO inhibitors or cisapride. In the United States and Australia, they are pregnancy category C which means that may cause problems during pregnancy.

Amitril is the same  as Amitriptyline

On Dec, 22, 2016 5,616 people reported to have side effects when taking Amitriptyline Hydrochloride.  Among them, 79 people (1.41%) have Hallucinations

On Sep, 9, 2015: 5,806 people reported to have side effects when taking Amitriptyline hydrochloride. Among them, 76 people (1.31%) have Death.
